The 14th ICCS Asia-Pacific Regional Conference was held from 2-5 Nov 2023 in Kenting, Taiwan. The conference has a theme of “Listen to Him”, and there were over 60 participants from 7 jurisdictions (Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan).

The bishop of the Diocese of Hsinch and the Chairman of Chinese Regional Bishops’ Conference, Bishop John Lee Kehmien, presided over the opening mass on 2 Nov 2023. The ICCS APR Chairman, Mr. Yasunobu Iimori, presented the Regional Report, while the ICCS’s World Chaplain, Fr Luis Marinho, led a workshop on “spiritual” and what that means to scouting and leaders.

To achieve the SDG goal for Life Underwater, the participants visited the National Museum of Marine Biology & Aquarium and marine rescue center on Day 2. The team also visited the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum and Wanjin Catholic Basilica Jia Ping Fatima Church on Day 3 to understand the local religious experience. It is a memorable experience to gather over 60 Catholic Leaders and scouts to sing the song “IMMACULATE MARY” in seven different languages. The Archbishop Peter Lau Cheng-chung, Diocese of Kaohsiung, celebrated the closing Ceremony on the last day of the conference.

Thanks again to the Taiwan team for their hard work in organizing this ICCS APR conference in KENTING, Taiwan.
