Boy Scouts of the Philippines – Samar Council, Pasay Council, Scout Valeriano Abello Community Scouting, and Scout Valeriano Abello Rover Circle organized this activity, the Scout Recollection, on March 31, 2023. Over 70 participants from various councils in the Philippines joined and participated in this event through the Rover Scout of Samar Council. They contacted the Cebu National Catholic Committee on Scouting to be the recollection facilitator and the discussion of the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.
Recollection is a time for spiritual renewal and growth as well as preparation for Holy Week, which binds us together and makes possible everything else because of our love and devotion to Jesus. As Scouts, it is expected of us to be reverent under our Scout Law, thus we must take time to reflect for deepening our spirituality. Recollections allow us to live completely in the present moment. We never lose out on living and being alive this way.
There are 70 participants in this event who came from various councils around the Philippines. Scouts and Adult Leaders attended to take part in this Lent Session activity, which is a chance to reflect on what it means to be a Christian. Lent is a time to strengthen and grow our faith, which connects us and enables everything because of our love and fidelity to Jesus. The National Catholic Committee on Scouting was also mentioned throughout the presentation.
