GUIDELINES FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE ICCS

Fully recognized members of the World Organization of the Scout Movement and any Catholic council or Catholic organized group operating within any national association recognized by WOSM may apply for membership in the International Catholic Conference of Scouting. Organizations applying for membership in the ICCS should have a desire to live Scouting in the Catholic faith perspective, to promote and develop a social dimension to Scouting in line with the social doctrine of the Catholic Church, and to belong and contribute to a spiritual family of Catholic Scouting organizations.

Pursuant to section IV. Membership of the Statutes and Official Documents of the International Catholic Conference of Scouting, applications for membership shall be sent to the World Chair of the ICCS with a detailed case for admission including: the constitutionality of the Catholic Association or the Catholic Council or group; a letter of endorsement from the relevant national Catholic hierarchy or Episcopal Conference; a letter of endorsement from the Scout Organization of the applicant; a brief resume of the applicant’s history; and any supporting documentation or publications which may have been developed by the applicant as an aid for spiritual development, training, spiritual programs, and guidelines for chaplains.

The ICCS World Committee, having examined all aspects of the application and consulted with the regional committee, may grant “observer status” to the applicant. A decision to grant full membership to the applicant may be made at the next ICCS World Council. On becoming a full member, an annual fee is payable by the entity.
