The key was that we had active and enriching participation: 38 participants from 19 member associations of the International Catholic Conference of Scouting, Europe–Mediterranean Region.
The highlights of this meeting, which we will remember, were:
A) The activity report of the triennial plan and the 2022–2025 budget.
B) The presentation of the priorities to be developed during the 2022–2025 period.
C) The presentation and discussion (in groups) of three of these strategic priorities:
- Presenting the Gospel to young people as a path of spirituality within the Scout Movement.
- Supporting the organization and strengthening of Catholic committees.
- Ensuring the presence of ICCS at international events of the Scout Movement and of the Church.
The discussions were enriching, the contributions fruitful, and the Council entrusted this strategic plan to the new Committee for the next three years.
C) With regard to the Regional Committee, the Council elected four new members for the 2025–2028 term and appointed a new Regional Chaplain.
D) Not forgetting the presentation by Father Sylvain BRISON on the theme “Scouting and Ecclesiology”: in other words, what are the links between Catholic Scouting and the teaching of the Church? A rich and in-depth discussion.
This is the composition of the new Regional Committee for the next three years:
- Jacques AYOUB, President
- Robert THOMSON, Vice President
- Martina SLIVKOVA, Treasurer
- Rawan HOBEIKA, Secretary
- Father Benoist DE SINETY, Chaplain
The work ahead is immense.
We remain open to contributions from everyone. We count on the participation of each member/association, with a Scout spirit, humility, and trust, with the grace of God, your prayers, and your support.
Europe–Mediterranean President
Jacques Ayoub
