We are excited to share a vibrant snapshot of recent activities and events within the Catholic Scouting community in the Asia-Pacific Region. These moments reflect the heart of our mission—fostering fellowship, serving others, and embracing the richness of cross-cultural learning.

Hong Kong

The Catholic Girl Guides and Scout Guild held a pilgrimage to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, which was built in 1995, and keeps the relic of St. Thomas.  Rev. Luigi Bonalumi, PIME (The Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions, P.P., celebrated Mass in the small chapel for the Girl Guides and Scouts.  We offered special prayers for the residents affected by the Tai Po fire at the end of the mass, asking the Lord for grace and mercy. May the deceased rest in peace, the injured be healed, and the victims be comforted, so they may regain strength and hope in the love of the Lord.   Thomas answered, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “You believe because you can see me. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.” (John 20:28–29)

Japan

The Girl Scouts of the Tokyo and Yokohama Dioceses held their annual Christmas gathering on 6 Dec 2025 with the theme being “Light”.  The Scouts listened to a sermon by the priest, who spoke from his own experience about the great joy of finding light in the darkness.  Afterwards, the Scouts made beautiful candles with various decorations to brighten up the Christmas night.

Macau

On 7 Dec 2025, Macau Scouts participated in Religious Day, an inter-religion celebration bringing together Catholicism, Buddhism and Protestantism, reminding Scouts of their Promise: Duty to Faith. The event included inspiring sharing by Faith Leaders and interactive booth games that enriched knowledge of each faith.

May we continue to walk together in faith, hope, and love, living out the spirit of communion and service in our daily lives.
