We are pleased to share a brief review of recent activities and events within the Catholic Scouting community across Asia-Pacific Region. The events below reflect the spirit of fellowship, service, and cross-cultural learning that defines our movement.
Korea – The Korea Catholic Scouts International Camp took place on 6-10 August 2025 at Goseong campsite near Seoul. The opening ceremony was a grand celebration, graced by the presence of presidents from both the Korea Scout Association and the Korea Girl Scout Association. The camp drew over 450 local and overseas participants, and offered a meaningful opportunity to strengthen international friendships, faith, and the spirit of Scouting.

Taiwan – Cub scouts from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church under Hualien Diocese went camping in the Bulbul area of Taitung County on 1-5 August 2025. They enjoyed playing with children from the indigenous communities to learn about inclusivity and to explore the local culture and customs.

Hong Kong – More than 60 Catholic Scouts and leaders served at the Mission Festival Music Evangelistic Concert organized by the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong in 18-19 October 2025. Non-believing friends or relatives were invited to join in this music evangelistic Concert, guiding them to experience the peace, joy, and hope in the Lord, and to receive a blessing of love. Both Catholics and non-believers were encouraged to come forward and receive blessings from Cardinal Stephen Chow, Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Ha and other clergy. Japan – the 15th ICCS APR Conference was held in Tokyo from 31 Oct to 4 Nov 2025. There were over 100 local and overseas attendees from Hong Kong, Korea, Macau, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. The opening ceremony was held after the morning mass presided over by the Auxiliary Bishop Andrea Lembo, the Archdiocese of Tokyo. The program include Keynote speech discussion by Bishop, Regional Report from ICCS APR Chairperson, a presentation from ICCS World Chairperson, Country Report from our members, workshops/lecture, youth meeting, visit to the St Mary’s Cathedral of Tokyo and local scout shop, as well as night excursion to Tokyo downtown. Three St George Brotherhood were presented during the conference to Yasunobu Iimori, Pius In-Sik Bae and Francis Jung in recognition for their outstanding contributions to the Catholic Scouting. All participants enjoyed sharing of experiences, cultural dancing, building friendships, and exchanging of souvenirs. We look forward to meeting again at the next ICCS event.

Great to see so many activities, supports, and participations in Catholic Scouting across the Asia-Pacific Region. We hope we will continue to grow in faith, service, and fellowship, inspiring young people to lead with courage, compassion, and intercultural understanding. Until our next gathering, may God’s blessings be with you all.
