From 15 to 20 November 2025, ICCS will gather in Frascati (Rome) for the international seminar Leaven in the Dough – Driving Social Change through Scouting.

The event will bring together around 100 participants, representing 27 member associations (each with three delegates), together with the animation team, the ICCS World Committee, and several volunteers supporting the organization.

The seminar is the first stage of a three-phase project (2024–2027). It will be followed by an online training programme and by the implementation of national projects within each participating association. Through Leaven in the Dough, ICCS aims to accompany Catholic and faith-inspired Scout leaders in linking the Gospel with social engagement, helping them design concrete initiatives for transformation in their communities.

The initiative seeks to strengthen a shared vision of Scouting as a space where faith becomes action, dialogue builds bridges, and service transforms societies from within. The diversity of participants — coming from every region of the world — will make the seminar a truly international experience of communion and collaboration.

The week is structured around three key dimensions: Listening to the Spirit, Walking Together, and Transforming the World. Each day will combine moments of prayer, formation, and dialogue inspired by the conversation in the Spirit method, uniting spiritual and religious reflection with practical creativity and teamwork.

Among the invited contributors are Nathalie Becquart, Chris Meadows, Isabella Brückner, Fabrice Ouattara, Sergio Massironi, Romuald Uzabumwana, Roberto Del Riccio, Tebaldo Vinciguerra, Llanos Meseguer, and Gilfredo Marengo, who will accompany participants in exploring how faith, dialogue, and social commitment can renew Scouting today.

A particularly meaningful highlight will be the Jubilee Pilgrimage to the Holy Door of St Peter’s Basilica, on Tuesday 18 November, marking ICCS’s communion with the universal Church during the Holy Year 2025. Participants will share a moment of prayer and thanksgiving, entrusting to God the fruits of their formation and the mission that lies ahead in their associations.

The ICCS World Committee will also take part in the seminar, joining several sessions and holding a dedicated meeting to review ongoing initiatives and plan the next stages of the triennium.

This seminar is a special opportunity to renew our common mission: to be “the yeast in the dough” within the Scout Movement — fully members of the Catholic Church and fully members of WOSM — helping faith to grow and to bear fruit in the service of others
