The year 2025 has been a remarkable period of renewal and progress for Friends of the Earth. Since the Cairo World Gathering, initiatives across the globe have flourished, reaching new communities and ecosystems. From reforestation campaigns to youth-led environmental education programs, every project reflects the organization’s mission to protect the planet and promote sustainable development for all. 🌱
Strengthening Partnerships
Two collaborations stood out this year. The Sisters of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem combined faith and environmental stewardship to raise ecological awareness and support community-based sustainability. Meanwhile, the Scouts du Sénégal joined Friends of the Earth at Jamboree 2025, planting trees, leading eco-workshops, and inspiring young leaders to become champions for the planet. These partnerships highlight that caring for the Earth is a shared responsibility that transcends borders, faiths, and generations. 🤝
Renewed Identity
A new graphic charter is in development and will be officially launched at the next World Council. This refreshed visual identity represents a commitment to clarity, coherence, and unity across all communications, symbolizing the organization’s evolving global impact.
Commitment to the SDGs
All programs are carefully aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), putting Laudato Si’ into action. Initiatives focus on climate action (SDG 13), life on land (SDG 15), clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), and partnerships for the goals (SDG 17). Every effort, from environmental education to biodiversity protection, strengthens sustainable communities and embodies our shared responsibility to care for our common home. 🌱🌍
Looking Ahead
With a growing network, strengthened partnerships, and renewed energy, Friends of the Earth moves forward with confidence. Each member, volunteer, and partner contributes to a singular mission: to safeguard our planet for present and future generations. 🌏
“We require a new and universal solidarity. Every person living on this planet must play a part.” — Pope Francis, Laudato Si’
