Goseong, Gangwon Province, Korea – Over 450 participants from six ICCS-APR member countries — Korea, Japan, Macao, Mongolia, Taiwan and Vietnam — came together for the Korea Catholic Scouts International Camp 2025, held from August 6 to 10, 2025, at the historical site of the 1991 World Scout Jamboree in Goseong, Korea. The camp offered a meaningful opportunity to strengthen international friendships, faith, and the spirit of Scouting.

Opening Ceremony: United in Spirit Amid Strong Winds

The opening ceremony was a grand celebration, graced by the presence of presidents from both the Korea Scout Association and the Korea Girl Scout Association. Despite the strong winds, participants from all six nations gathered joyfully, forming one united family in Scouting. In particular, the presence of Ms. Vong, Francisca, Chairperson of ICCS-Asia Pacific, added great significance to the event.”

International Day: Sharing Culture, Food, and Friendship

During International Day, each country’s delegation made a memorable entrance wearing their traditional costumes, parading proudly into the arena. Scouts introduced their native foods, cultural games, and customs, creating a vibrant atmosphere of cultural exchange and friendship.  A special moment came when the Vietnamese delegation presented a heartfelt final performance that touched everyone’s hearts.

Scout Activities: Challenge, Joy, and Discovery

The camp offered a wide range of Scout activities, regarded as the heart of any Scout event. Participants challenged themselves through rock climbing, ocean swimming and windsurfing, rope forest games, crafts, and safety experience programs. These engaging activities sparked joy and inspired Scouts to take on new challenges. In particular, Venture Scouts achieved a remarkable feat on the final night by climbing the nearby Ulsanbawi Mountain.

K-Superstar Me & Campfire: A Night to Remember

The K-Superstar Me talent show provided a free and lively platform for Scouts to showcase their musical talents. The highlight of the campfire night came when Rover Scouts performed a high-energy K-pop stage, turning the entire arena into a wave of cheers, dance, and excitement. The silhouette of their backs as they danced and cheered became an unforgettable and truly priceless scene.

Sunday Mass: A Time for Reflection and Gratitude

The camp culminated in a moving Sunday Mass, giving thanks to God for the grace received throughout the five-day journey. Participants reflected deeply on the camp’s theme,  “Those who hope in the Lord will walk without growing weary.” – Isaiah 40:31,  engraving the message in their hearts as they prepared to return to daily life.    It was a deeply moving moment where Scouting activities beautifully aligned with the spirit of Catholic faith.

Pre & Post Program: Homestay and Farewell in Seoul

To promote cultural understanding and provide comfort, KCS host families welcomed overseas Scouts for a one-night homestay before the camp. After the event, participants enjoyed a Seoul city tour and a warm farewell dinner, exchanging words of gratitude and promising to meet again in the near future.  This camp truly embodied the spirit of Scouting — unity, service, and brotherhood across borders. It left each participant with unforgettable memories, new friendships, and a deeper commitment to the global Scout movement.
