As part of the spiritual and cultural journey toward the Jubilee, scouts from around the world gathering in Rome will experience a day filled with adventure, reflection, and celebration on July 30. The day has been thoughtfully designed to blend exploration of the Eternal City with a profound moment of shared faith.

Morning: Scavenger Hunt — “Traces of Hope for the Jubilee”

In the morning, scouts will set off on a dynamic scavenger hunt titled “Traces of Hope for the Jubilee.” Designed as a large, step-by-step interactive game, the activity will lead participants through the historic streets of Rome, guiding them to discover monuments, landmarks, and sacred sites that are rich in meaning and memory.

At each stop along the way, scouts will engage in creative and reflective activities tied to the theme of hope—a central virtue of the Jubilee year. Whether through symbolic tasks, team challenges, or short moments of personal reflection, each stage will inspire scouts to see hope not just as an idea, but as something that can be lived and shared.

This activity serves not only as a cultural immersion, but as an invitation to connect the spirit of Scouting with the deep roots of faith and history present in the city of Rome.

Afternoon: International Live Mass

The afternoon will culminate in a special International Mass, celebrated in English at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, one of Rome’s major churches.

The Eucharist will be presided over by Bishop Paolo Giulietti, Archbishop of Lucca and President of the Episcopal Commission for Youth Ministry of the Italian Episcopal Conference. His presence marks a significant moment for scouts from around the world to come together in prayer, unity, and thanksgiving.

This multilingual, multicultural celebration will reflect the global nature of the Scout Movement and its common foundation in values such as fraternity, peace, and service.

Living the Jubilee Spirit

Through these activities, scouts will not only explore Rome and celebrate their faith—they will also embody the Jubilee spirit of renewal, inclusion, and hope. It is a day that promises to leave lasting impressions in both heart and memory, reminding every participant that the journey of Scouting is also a pilgrimage of the soul.
