During the Ascension weekend (May 29 to June 1), I participated in the weekend/pilgrimage of the Scouts and Guides of France at Taizé, passing through the Abbey of Cluny.

Rich spiritual workshops and testimonies were offered to the participants:

  • The Interreligious Dialogue Badge – IDB –

  • The spiritual proposal in the different branches of the SGDF

  • The sacrament of initiation within the SGDF

  • Introducing Jesus and the patron saints

  • An exceptional commented reading of the gospel of the day from Saint Luke, by Brother Benoît (from the Taizé Community)

  • And many other topics about faith and the spiritual proposal of the SGDF.

As part of the Jubilee of Hope, and on the way to the national SGDF event “Clameurs,” this weekend at Taizé brought together 450 participants: Chaplains, Cléophas (spiritual leaders), Territorial Delegates, Group Leaders, and Scouts.

I presented to the participants the mission of the ICCS with Catholic Scout Associations, the relationships with the Church and international Scout and Guide bodies.

As a member of the regional team of the International Catholic Conference of Scouting – Euro-Mediterranean region, I shared the framework of my mission and role within the ICCS.
I exchanged with participants in my workshop about the contributions ICCS offers to its members worldwide, the place and role of SGDF within this global body, and the links between ICCS, the Church, and WOSM.

Of course, I also had an exceptional “Taizé style” experience: community prayers, praises, and special moments discovering the fervor of the faithful in prayer, meditation, and unity within the Church.
