In the light of the current strategic plan, ICCS-EM Committee will organise a inovative training seminar hosting chaplains and leaders working in spiritual teams, training teams or interested in spiritual development and willing to be prepared to support catholic scouting.

This year’s Regional Seminar will be held between Centre d’activités de Jambville (SGDF) and Boran-sur-Oise, the place where Jacques Sevin SJ spent the last part of his life, where he founded a religious congregation, mostly with former Scout leaders, and where he is buried.

CONTENTS

This seminar represents an excellent opportunity to reflect together on the place of religion in scouting in the present time and to focus on the training needs of scout leaders in terms of faith education.

It will be also a way to exchange experiences and training programs currently underway in the various scouting Associations.

During this event, will take place moments of discussion in the form of workshops on the following topics:

  • Jacques Sevin and Catholic Scouting: an Educative Proposal.
  • Essentials of Scouting: the educative method.
  • Spiritual development of young people: how can we help young people to grow up with Jesus Christ at home, at school and in scouting.
  • The attitudes of the scout leader to educate in the faith.
  • Effective collaboration between priests and scout leaders.
  • The place of religion in scouting: what are the next steps for ICCS?

There will be an appropriate space to draw useful ideas to define Strategic Priorities for the 2025-2031 Regional ICCS Plan.

Furthermore, each day will leave moments of individual reflection and meditation, in addition to community prayer and celebration of the Holy Mass.

Finally, the program includes moments of socialization and sharing, scout-style campfire and guided visits to places of interest nearby.
