JCCS – Visit to Bishop Umemura

Mr. Okano and Bishop Umemura

Mr. Okano and Bishop Umemura

Mr. Okano, a board member of JCCS visited Bishop Umemura, at Yamate church, in Yokohama, on June 27th. He briefed the Bishop on the 100 year anniversary of Catholic Scouting and its history and the Keep the Lamp Burning (KLB) project. Bishop Umemura mentioned that it is important to get an understanding from not only Scouts and Scouters but also people who are members of churches and communities. Integrating his advice, JCCS will utilize our special KLB project patch to let community people know more about the history of 100 year Catholic Scouting and our activities/value. The cost of the patches includes a donation for recovery funding of the Tohoku area where a massive earthquake and Tsunami caused great devastation in March 2011. Please feel free to utilize the patch for those and other purposes.
