Keep the Lamp Burning Programs

As part of the Keep the Lamp Burning celebration Catholic Scout organizations are encouraged to develop programs to promote the 100 years of scouting in the Catholic Church in their own unique way.  Here are many examples:

Francisco wave, Francisco way

Francisco is the first non European Pope. He, like scouts, speaks to the young people of the world. He speaks not just for Catholics. Countries are becoming more rapidly multi religious. More and more Catholics serve scouts of many religions. At the same time they develop Catholics councils and methods. Isn’t Francisco the Pope beginning the second century of catholics in scouting?

After the World Youth Day Inter-America ICCS Region promoted the theme ‘scouting on the wave of Pope Francisco’ at their CICE seminar. Scouts of Argentina offered the first ‘Inter-American Interreligious Forum’. They project to expose how to be a catholic scout on the wave of Pope Francisco.

Africa Region (ICCS and WOSM) are organizing sub regional spiritual seminars between neighboring countries in south, west and east Africa to be attended  by chaplains and national scout leaders. They will produce the results as an African program: What is to be a Catholic Scout in Africa.
